1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Forensic Notes ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
Forensic Notes provides a digital notetaking platform with features including but not limited to: digitally signed and timestamped notes, voice-to-text transcription, entity management, and court-ready documentation export. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account.
4. License and Usage
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your lawful investigative and documentation purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service or its content.
5. Data Ownership
You retain all rights to the content you create, upload, or store within the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We will not access, use, or share your content except as necessary to operate the Service or as required by law.
6. Limitations of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Forensic Notes and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request export of your data prior to account termination.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
